I did not enjoy the record, I found one or two songs I liked and that was it.But one day it clicked, every track on this record is amazing, I actually view it as one long piece. This album flows as one track, not as 9 different tracks. It's a very emotional album, and I find that emotional music is the most beautiful music. There is a wide variety of musical journeys on this record, acoustic guitars, bright sounds, fast rhythms, mesmerizing strings, electronica, harmonies; the list goes on and it's amazing just how well it truly does flow together. Weather Systems does not surpass its predecessor (We're Here Because We're Here), but it sure does come close and is without a doubt a worthy follow-up that stands on it's own. This is an amazing album that everyone should at least experience once. 10 of 13 people found the following review helpful By opopbon (WV, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Weather Systems (Audio CD) I've been Anathema fan for awhile but this album takes the cake. Over time I've grown into a more mature taste of music...I can say honestly it all started with Devin Townsend...but that's a different story....I bought "We're here because We're here" and it took a while to grow on me. I then previewed and bought "Falling Deeper" and absolutely fell in love with it. After listening to "Falling Deeper" numerous times, I had to give "We're here because We're here" more time to grow on me...and it did. After hearing their Death/Doom metal, I never could quite connect with it. So, I'm probably going to fall into a small category about this band and say I like their new work much more than their old work. This album, is different in many ways than "We're here because We're here". There's a lot of tempo changes and just all around different melodies. All in all it's beyond a beautiful album...if you're a fan of... Read more |
