Who would have ever thought that such a unique and powerful hiphop album could convey such emotion. The lyrics, the instrumentals, production... all of it was mastered so perfectly. It has honestly changed my life for the better. I am now off drugs, back in college and working part time to support my child. I am a new man. If you're new to Death Grips and haven't listened to their free downloadable mixtape "Exmilitary" , know that this album will be unlike anything you're used to hearing. I listen to a lot of Norwegian Black Metal, Hardcore Punk, EDM and Underground Rap-- despite my background, Death Grips still proves to have creative and catchy work. They aren't constrained to any genre archetypes either,so no pretentious BS here, just raw music. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Money Store (Audio CD) This album is definitely not for everyone. Its visceral, full of aggressive emotions and in your face throughout. Was it for me? The answer is hell yes. Every song is diffrent from the other and has alot more variety then their mixtape Exmilitary which was still a phenomenal tape in my book. Songs on this range from atmospheric to mosh pit crazy. Replay value is huge on this thing as well. I lost count how many times ive listened to it but i have not grown tired of it. To put it siimply, i love this album and cannot wait for their next release later this year "No Love." If you havent heard any of Death Grips music and want to hear the hip hop genre being pushed to the boundaries, do not pass this masterpiece up. |
