Digitally remastered edition of this 1977 live album from Soul legends Isaac Hayes and Dionne Warwick. Working together with their respective touring bands and background vocalists, the spectacular show focused on obvious hits from the catalogs of each performer. In addition to tracks associated with each of the performers - such as "Then Came You" (Dionne's 1974 chart-topping duet with The Spinners) and Isaac's 1975 hits, 'Chocolate Chip' and 'Come Live With Me' - the pair created some great combinations of hits of the day including a fourteen-minute-plus whirlwind medley of seven songs; and a soulful combo of 'Feelings' and 'My Eyes Adored You.' Recorded at the end of the tour in Atlanta at The Fabulous Fox Theater, this album has long been in demand by fans of both artists. I wish I was old enough back in the day to attend this performance when it was recorded for this album. Issac and Dionne certainly showcased a vibrant versatility for a variety of songs as a duet as well as performing as a solo artist. In an other day in time I happened to borrow this album from my brother and the performance is stellar. Their duets are unique and give a new perspective on the songs which have been associated with each artist. I would like to see it put on CD. It is an audio banquet of sounds that stir all the senses and emotions. |
