Enamorada De Ti

Product Description

Selena Quintanilla, known simply as Selena, was a Mexican-American singer-songwriter. She was named "Top Latin artist of the 90s" and "Best Selling Latin artist of the decade" by Billboard magazine for her fourteen top ten singles in the Top Latin songs chart, including seven number one hits. Selena was called "The Queen of Tejano Music" and often referred as the Mexican equivalent to Madonna. What Selena accomplished by the time of her death, others could spend a lifetime trying to achieve. Selena's upcoming album, "Enamorada de Ti" shows her in a new level. This recording shows fans and the rest of the world how Selena would sound today. She would be a 40 year old woman with a solid career, collaborating with the hottest artists and continuing to break ground. Selena's legacy lives on and is shown on this new album

After numerous and countless albums featuring the same songs, the Quintanilla family has finally resurrected the beauty and intensity of Selena's gift. Her voice. Through modern technology and today's most popular singers, they have managed to breathe new life into the music and have brought Selena back from the grave! The songs sound brand new and fresh, as if Selena had just exited the studio and released the album.

"Como La Flor", by far Selena's biggest and most known song, was transformed into a really nice Ranchera featuring Cristian Castro and it really does sound like an entirely new song. It sounds like anything Jenni Rivera could release today. For anyone that doesn't know, Jenni Rivera (who doesn't even hold a candle to Selena) is one of the biggest Mexican artists of today who sings mostly rancheras.

Songs like "Ya No" with Carlos Santana's band sound like an entirely different, new song; adding the Latin rock flavor that is popular with Santana's... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice arrangements of prev hits and that last song, wow., April 3, 2012

A must for the ardent Selena fans out there. I don't understand Spanish unless it's food but I love the rythym and tempo of Selena's music and these are some of her best works in different arrangements. Some slower, some as duets and that last song I'm sure would be a hit if it were released as a single.

4.0 out of 5 stars The album Selena fans have been waiting for, April 9, 2012
This review is from: Enamorada De Ti (Audio CD)
It's no secret that it's hard to keep up with the damands of a singer's fanbase after the person has passed on. It's even harder when the person is 17 years former and all "unreleased" recorded material has already been given out piece meal over the span of those years. The Quintanilla family has been relentless in their attempt to keep Selena's memory alive, but unfortunately have been forced to release tons of repetitive and redundant box sets and compilations. Finally, years past it's due, a new compilation of fully remixed Selena songs has been released.

The tracks on this album are just what the doctor ordered...for the most part. A release of beautifully remixed editions of some of Selena's most popular and iconic songs, updated for the next generation of fans, and breathing life into old songs for the older generation. The effort is beyond appreciated, but some may ask...what of Selena's English songs? Surely songs like "Captive Heart" and "Dreaming of You" could be... Read more
