Her voice. Through modern technology and today's most popular singers, they have managed to breathe new life into the music and have brought Selena back from the grave! The songs sound brand new and fresh, as if Selena had just exited the studio and released the album."Como La Flor", by far Selena's biggest and most known song, was transformed into a really nice Ranchera featuring Cristian Castro and it really does sound like an entirely new song. It sounds like anything Jenni Rivera could release today. For anyone that doesn't know, Jenni Rivera (who doesn't even hold a candle to Selena) is one of the biggest Mexican artists of today who sings mostly rancheras. I don't understand Spanish unless it's food but I love the rythym and tempo of Selena's music and these are some of her best works in different arrangements. It's even harder when the person is 17 years former and all "unreleased" recorded material has already been given out piece meal over the span of those years. The Quintanilla family has been relentless in their attempt to keep Selena's memory alive, but unfortunately have been forced to release tons of repetitive and redundant box sets and compilations. Finally, years past it's due, a new compilation of fully remixed Selena songs has been released.The tracks on this album are just what the doctor ordered...for the most part.
